As I mentioned, I did the research on it and chose not to include it, even though I knew I’d have to face comments like this that challenged my omission. I’m not talking about how it used to be used. These are two very different things. It’s irrelevant how it used to be used — that’s hardly recognizable to today’s incel culture. I’m talking about present-day incel culture, not how it started.
Further, I’m not labeling all of them as evil misogynists. In fact, I never once used the term “evil.” I pointed out that anyone who chooses to use that word who doesn’t believe in that misogynistic ideology needs to choose another word. You can’t argue that there are nice Nazis, after all. When a hate group takes a term as their own, if you don’t agree with their ideology, then it’s time to jump ship and take on a new label.
