As you said, we don't know if he's guilty or not, but you can see from what's happening here that people still give little to no credence to women's stories, and we will still bend over backwards to blame them for abuse and assault. It's so heartbreaking, so lacking in compassion, so blind to the complications of how abusive relationships - or any relationships, for that matter - can play out. And of course, it totally (and conveniently) erases the power imbalances created by a patriarchal system and the ways they affect heterosexual relationships.
