My first name (which as you might know from reading my other articles) is actually my middle name and as for pronunciation, the correct way is Ya-ELLE (“ya” rhymes with “caw”) — BUT my parents always pronounced it differently, which means I grew up saying it wrong all these years (not that I care — it works for me!). I pronounce it Yie-ELLE (“yie” rhymes with “pie”). Two syllables, emphasis on the second.
