Exactly. And I'm not against gun ownership across the board - a cop owning a handgun seems entirely reasonable to me. My brother lives on a ranch and owns a rifle. These things make sense to me. But to pretend like it's not a deadly weapon and that their presence in a home doesn't increase the chances of injury or death is just insane to me.
