First of all, you write so well about these incredibly difficult, painful situations and with such empowerment. This is such an important article. I experienced a story very much like this and to this day, I have such a hard time using that word to describe it even though I know that's what it was. What other word do you use when you are pinned to the ground, crying, saying no? But goddammit, I feel so subversive saying that, thanks to a lifetime of brainwashing that we have endured.
