Genius, as always. I’ve been thinking a lot about this, too, and the additional layer (for me) that I’ve always been taught to consider other people’s feelings over my own. But ultimately, as you said, the polite lies do NOT honor other people’s feelings (nor should I be polite-lying instead of respecting my truth).
