GOD I love you. LOL. This is everything. You nailed it. We still live in a culture where our friends are considered so low on the heirarchy. It's insane to me, as a single woman - why on earth wouldn't we, as a society, consider them part of our tribe, just as important as everyone else? And for god's sake, I think we would be so much healthier as a society if we did!
