Hell yes. I have come to believe that there is nothing easier for a man to do than wearing the Nice Guy Mask. It is relatively effortless and probably works really well at getting them what they want. Time and again, I have learned never to trust "nice." Which means every encounter with a potential male lover is still a huge risk. It's really discouraging and scary. (And I'm sorry that happened to you.)
