Hells yes you can feel both ways and I 100% support it. Most of my feminist friends had a boyfriend do this and they were absolutely okay with it and still consider themselves feminists, as do I. I don’t think it’s anti-feminist to engage in this practice, at all. It’s just wrong for ME and has ME feeling all kinds of not great feelings about it.

But I think it’s totally legit to feel this way for a number of reasons, especially the one you cited. So yes, smash the patriarchy, but yes, want an engaged father, want someone to ask your father for his blessing, want WHATEVER you want and I am totally behind you because it is your CHOICE and choice is all that matters to me when it comes to feminism. ❤
