Hi Rivka,

I love your warrior spirit in defending that women should define "sexy" for themselves, but I did want to step in and assure you that Edward Riley is one of my closet friends in the entire world (we talk every day) and his comment was only aggressive in that he is aggressively affirming what he already knows about me and how I define sexy and how I want the world to accept my sexiness. He is one of the very best men I have ever met, truly, truly someone who loves and respects women.

It's hard to read tone sometimes, and of course, from the outside, it's impossible to see that comments sometimes are an extension of conversations being had within deep friendships and not just a passing dude asserting his opinions about a woman's experience. This is part of the ongoing conversation between me and Edward, one that has been intensely healing for me.
