I am luckier, in a sense, about the idea of the young women in my family becoming sexual beings someday because I know what I wish what would have happened to ME. I can understand how a man might feel protective (and in some cases, rightfully so in this sexist society) of his daughters. But yes — just as you said — what kind of sexual/romantic fulfillment would they have if we don’t empower them.
