I am 43 now and have put years of thought behind my decision to write about sex — including my fantasies and sharing my very personal stories of overcoming sexual shame. I don’t do it for money — never would, though I see no shame in that, if anyone chose to do so. I certainly don’t do it to harm the people who have been in my life.

I do it because I believe too many women have been taught NOT to speak up for or about their pleasure. That’s not to say that I think we should all publicly declare our sexual desires, of course. :) But I do think we need examples of women who are speaking up LOUDLY for their own pleasure, who dare to be open about their sexual needs and fantasies.

I realize that doing this makes me a target for people who see this behavior as shameful or unscrupulous, but I am happy to take the hit. I’m old enough to know myself and my intentions — and more than anything, I know my mission: To DESTROY shame around female sexuality.

I think this is really more of an issue of people having very different perspectives on sexuality and privacy. Which of course, is okay by me. ;) We’re all different and that’s a good thing.
