I am not worried about anger transforming me into someone I won’t recognize. I’m worried about the exact opposite — that if I continue to stuff some of the emotions our culture doesn’t want me to express, THEN I will transform into someone I don’t recognize.

For me, anger is a journey I want to take — not to release the demons, but to learn how to wield it constructively.

The companion piece to this article would be called something like, Stop Telling Men That the ONLY Thing They Are Allowed to Feel Is Anger.
