I am SO sorry this happened. We were not taught to call rape by its name. It makes me sick to think of how many behaviors I and my friends identified as our own faults — until #MeToo (incredibly — when I was in my forties, for heaven’s sake) and I was able to FINALLY identify rape, assault, harassment, FINALLY stop blaming myself, finally see others stop blaming themselves…
