I am so sorry this happened to you. Your pain is visceral. And relatable. I’m still struggling to use the “r word” to describe several experiences I had which either involved force but from a man I loved or which didn’t, like the one you described. Why is it so goddamn hard to say the word? Because we know people won’t believe us. People will explain it away. Just like they did with you.

It is infuriating that we’re still dealing with this in 2020.
