I can remember so many times as a teen and in my twenties where I'd be watching a show or movie with my mom and she'd say, "How come every damn show is about a white woman in her twenties and her best friend is a Black woman who always has the exact same personality?" I have often thought about that and what it would be like to have grown up with so little media representation. That's barely the tip of the iceberg on this subject.

I want more than that. I want to see so much more. Bridgerton was a great start.
