I don’t know…maybe cynicism. That’s entirely possible.

I really don’t know one single woman who had an affair, got pregnant by her lover, lied to her husband about the baby’s parentage, and let him raise it as his own. I know people say it’s so, so common, but I’ve literally never seen it outside a soap opera. I’m sure it happens from time to time, but I genuinely don’t know a single man who is raising another man’s baby as his own — except for stepdads, but I can’t see that as a moral failure on a woman’s part.
