I FIRMLY believe that we must tell our stories. Particularly women telling stories about their relationships and sexuality. There is such a culture of silence, as you touched on, among women, that we're supposed to power through our problems alone, keep that Christmas card image of perfection about our relationships, and sit quietly and smile.

Fuck that. We need to reclaim our voices and share what's REAL.

I don't care if it's for money, I don't care if it's because we feel silenced, I don't what the reason is - it's just so important that we speak up and do what's right for us.

I have struggled with this a lot. I write about my family sometimes, and that makes me nervous. I'm not sure it's the "right thing." But I NEED to. This is how I process my thoughts and feelings. And I need to be able to tell my story without influence or interruption.

This is what writers do. <3
