I had an incredibly disturbing cyber-encounter with a reader last night who aggressively shamed women for not doing their part when it comes to consent — for not being honest about saying no, for instance. I foolishly responded to make a point exactly like what you said here, and he came back at me again, defending the men who have “persisted until a woman gives in” because that was the cultural climate of the time.

It was SO disturbing and his behavior proved MY point rather than his own.
