I just listened to a fascinating podcast (from We Can Do Hard Things) about photography and how we dress up our kids for photo day which sends a message that who they are in everyday life isn't worth documenting. Kinda related to what you are talking about here, in terms of the way we feel we have to present ourselves to the camera.
