I love this. I agree, when you get to your forties, you’ve had time to think about this and it becomes a really deliberate choice (which isn’t always the case in one’s twenties). I can relate to the middle name issue, as well — I have four and routinely have to drop them off on forms. I always laughed about the idea of taking a man’s name, because I’d probably keep my birth surname, as well, adding a fifth middle name! It was another reason that dissuaded me from wanting to do it. LOL.
