I love this. I love that you won’t censor yourself. I had to get to that place, too. I told my family about this work, but I asked them not to read it because I knew eventually I would have to write about some of the family issues I’ve been dealing with over the years, including my parents’ divorce, and my mother, though she loves that I write about sex, does NOT want me writing about the divorce. I understand her sensitivity about it, but also…it’s stuff that affected me, too, and I need to be able to talk about it. Again, without censoring myself.
I do love, though, the conversations this has opened up between us, between me and my sister, between me and my friends. My friend Frank occasionally reads my work and though it is scary, it also feels empowering to have a male friend know these things about me and to trust him with that information. It’s pretty cool.
Anyways…I love you!!! You’re an inspiration!
