I never met a single Gen X man who was encouraged to be an assistant, secretary, or flight attendant so he could easily quit once he met a wife and could focus his attention on being a daddy. I never met a single Gen X man who was discouraged from entering politics or flat-out told he shouldn’t pursue corporate jobs. There are similarities to all Gen Xers experiences, but that doesn’t mean that inequality didn’t disproportionately and uniquely affect different demographics.
