I re-watched the Avenger movies when I was really, really sick a couple weeks ago - it had been ages since I'd seen most of them. I remember thinking: Wow, Tony is an arrogant asshole. Why is he the hero? Must be the charm and the Robert-Downey-Jr.-hotness, I guess.

I also remembered how uncomfortable I was about the Thanos movies. I felt very ambivalent about his character. Yes, they make him do some pretty awful shit, but overall, I couldn't see a flaw in his logic. When we're talking about facts, he's got them right and he was willing to face it. It's really very uncomfortable, isn't it?
