I suspect that he was repeating ageist/sexist propaganda that has been so deeply embedded in him (as in all of us who haven’t examined these things) that he didn’t even think through what he was actually saying. But yes, your point is solid. The intent of aging women out of society is just that — to keep us from having any positions of influence.
