I think about the whole "name thing," too - whether it's slave names or the names of our father's father's father's father's....either way, we have some man's name, whether we change it or keep it. So in that sense, it doesn't matter to me what name we end up choosing.

I also totally get the family thing. I think I would want that, too. I just wouldn't want the guy to assume I'd be the one to change mine, which seems to be prevalent in our culture.
