I think you are absolutely right here. My terminology was more symbolic, meaning “the patriarchy” — I could’ve been more clear, but yes, I think you are right on the money. And to take it deeper, I think this is all more issues born from this sexist society in which we separate men into these animals with a hyperactive sex drive and women into asexual beings with hyper-sexual bodies. And then we shame men about their sex drives and shame women about their bodies.

In reality, I think we are all so much more alike than different. I think plenty of women have made “dumb horny decisions,” too and more of us would make them if we were allowed to be sexual the way men are. And it can feel uncontrollable for us, too.
