I totally understood that you were talking about men and using the crudeness to make a point. But seeing the propaganda that is already so prominent about women being morally apathetic over abortions, I feel like it’s important to be very careful about how we use language in this issue.

I think you are right about both sides not recognizing certain aspects of this as being true. Marianne Williamson talks a lot about that — how the left has failed to acknowledge that this is a moral issue. And yet still, the government should not be making moral decisions for us.

You are also right about it being our culture that makes it hard for women to be single parents. But that’s a very real issue that is part of why abortion access is so important. And if you are a man (excuse the assumption based on your name), then you have to remember the differences between what you experienced as a single father vs. what women experience as single mothers. It’s a very different thing, very different circumstances.

But again, you make many excellent points and I don’t disagree. Thanks for the thoughtful comments. I have more to say on this issue, but I’m still putting it together in my head and it will probably become another article. :)
