I won't weigh in on this because I know it's such a personal decision, but yeah, it is BAD. I've been relatively lucky, lately, to have received no threats or abusive comments, though part of that is that I haven't been writing much about current events. I did get a couple trolls come after me for what I said on one of your articles about reverse racism.

All they want is to assert their power. They have no other objective, so far as I can see. Just steamroll and fuck everyone else. Hatred of women. Hatred of anyone who is questioning their power. Hatred. Hatred. Hatred.

I'd hate to see you have to turn your comments off, but I would totally understand if you did. I almost did over the summer, when I was getting violent threats and constant trolling. We'll see what happens when I next dive into more social issue-related work. :\
