I’m not against body shaming someone like Tate. Let’s be very clear about that. He is loud and proud in his pro-rape stance and commits violence against women every time he tweets. I couldn’t care less who shames him. I don’t know what the answer is, but there has to be SOME consequence for men with this amount of power spreading so much hate and misogyny.

I’m glad you liked the article, but I think you missed my point. This isn’t about turning the other cheek, forgiving people, or fighting fair. This man is encouraging other men to rape women and he’s an alleged sex trafficker. Body shaming him or fighting dirty against him doesn’t concern me in the least.

My point is simply that buying into the patriarchy’s standards of masculinity for any reason (even to burn someone like Tate) is buying into something that is ultimately anti-femme. And therefore, it further oppresses women (in my opinion).
