I’m thrilled to see more women opt out of motherhood (thrilled because I want to support them in exercising their choice to not be pressured into something they don’t want to do), but also scared to see this backlash against childless women. It’s obvious that pronatalism is making a strategic attack against them by positioning them as villains who are destroying the economy and future of the human species. Interestingly, we NEVER place this much responsibility for the future on MEN’S shoulders. They can opt out of parenthood anytime they want and no one would ever suggest they are selfish or are destroying the future of the human species.
