Incel culture was created by the patriarchy. Women did not create the patriarchy. Many choose to participate in it in order to get the scraps of social clout they will earn from being in proximity to power. It behooves all women, willing participants or not, to do the hard inner work to “unplug” from the patriarchy.
In the meantime, we are also fighting for our own equality in a world where men have far more privilege than we do. It is not our responsibility to fix the patriarchy. We didn’t create it and we are already forced to deal with its messes on a daily basis.
Further, we are already changing the system every time we show up at work to help support our families and pursue our career goals, every time we walk into a boardroom filled with men and hold our own, every time we speak out against abortion bans and incel culture. Many women — feminists and non-feminists — are changing the world every day just by existing and refusing to be treated as subordinates. That is the work of equality.
Your argument is circular and damns women one way or the other. We have to answer your question with a “yes,” and agree to save a demographic that has far more power than we do (please, explain to me how we are supposed to do that…), otherwise, as you imply, we become responsible for creating more incels. That sounds pretty misogynistic to me, not to mention the fact that men hold ZERO accountability in that scenario.
