It is scary for some when women demand what we deserve: equality. It can also be scary to acknowledge our privilege. What will happen if we make room for others who don’t have the same privilege, the same power? Will we lose what we have? A lot of people find it easier to insist on keeping the current system of power — built on sexism, misogyny, white supremacy — in place because it’s too scary to wander into unknown territory.
