I’ve written a lot about this. Before the patriarchy, humans primarily lived in egalitarian societies. There were certain developments in human lifestyle that evolved us into dominator hierarchies. There are some great articles on this in The Guardian and I highly suggest books by Riane Eisler if you want to read more about this. It’s nice to know that this has overwhelmingly been the norm for most of human history. We only screwed it up recently.
