I just want to be CRYSTAL CLEAR about that in case people infer that from your final comments. I totally agree with you that it's not gender-based.

I definitely think there are "giver/taker" dynamics going on, and like you, I learned that from what was modeled to me. I grew up constantly trying to please my mother and I feel like my romantic relationships have echoed that behavior.

It is so wonderful to hear that you have found another giver. That gives me great hope that there can be a giver-giver relationship in my future. <3
