Michael Murphy, I would suggest that the issue you are speaking of is a SYMPTOM of the fact that women do not have the liberty to pursue the sexual fulfillment that they want. We are still raised in so much shame around our sexuality. And, with all due respect, when women make an attempt to center ourselves in the sexual conversation in the same way that it has centered around men, and then a man counters that by trying to re-direct the conversation back to men…the cycle will continue.
What I mean to say is that I am CERTAIN that the problem of which you speak would not be such a big problem if women felt unashamed of their sexuality and desire. If women felt safe to express and pursue their desire, I GUARANTEE that men would experience far less sexual frustration. I guarantee that we’d all be having a LOT more sex! ;)
The question is: How can we help one another do that?
(Also, I love your idea about the round table.)
