Oh hell yes. I would never use my body or suggest other women use theirs as a bargaining chip. That would undermine the whole point that women deserve their humanity to be recognized. I also have no interest in living in a world in which men only recognize women’s humanity out of fear of losing access to pussy. I’d hope there are enough of them who are willing to stand up against the loss of abortion rights and what’s coming down the line (the proposed laws in Louisiana, for instance, that would charge women with murder for using IUDs) simply because it’s the right thing to do. Simply because they want to help their fellow humans.
And please note, if you support women’s reproductive rights, that it is NOT worth the risk. You said I feel it isn’t worth the risk — but it’s not about my feelings, my assessment, my opinion. This is a FACT. An economist would look at this and say, “HELL NO.”
Please don’t misunderstand me: I’m not saying that therefore, we really should stop having sex with men. I am just saying that this is untenable. This is dangerous. This is putting women’s lives at risk. These abortion restrictions, the reversal that is to come, and the laws that will follow that criminalize birth control, miscarriage, etc. do not and will not affect men.
We (all of us) deserve to live in a society that fosters healthy, supportive, equitable sexual relationships between men and women.
