Remember: the idea that grief is pointless or that we just need to get through it (a breather, as you said) is patriarchal, white supremacy ideology. Grief is transformative process. It is not a breather, but a metamorphosis. This is why I have hope for women, as a collective. We are finally able to see far and wide that this kind of thing is happening to us, and we’re finally free enough to be able to say it out loud and claim the space we need to process how this has caused us harm. This is a sacred moment. We will come out of this collective process greatly changed, even if it takes a few more generations. ❤
