Thank you a million times for sharing a male perspective on this. I am always strengthened to hear from men going through something similar. We are so much more alike than our culture would have us believe. :)

And yes, my point about the Pulitzer is more about the way I feel our culture pressures women to have kids and that that’s all we can do to be meaningful members of society. There’s part of me that feels like I have to strive for something extra amazing just to make up for the fact that I didn’t have kids. (Though also, I just really want to write something amazing enough to earn a Pulitzer. LOL.)

Anyways…my highest aspiration is simply to have what your mother had — people who will say that I contributed to their lives, that I helped them, that I will be missed. That’s the greatest gift we can give to the world. ❤
