Thank you for being so brave and sharing this. I had a similar experience, though we were not married (almost seven years into a relationship and five years into cohabitation) and it was not as violent as this. But still — I said no a million times, I pushed him off me over and over, I cried…and he just kept going. I never said anything afterward. I didn’t even think he had done anything wrong. He was my partner and I’d been brought up to think he had the right to do that.

Makes me sick.
