That’s reassuring. I was never really worried about it until my brother had kids and he and his wife do not encourage physical affection. They really want their kids to feel like masters of their own bodies, which I admire greatly. But they were very clear in the early days that I was being too enthusiastic about hugs and since I’ve backed off, I’ve found their son (who is 4) is extremely hands-off. He doesn’t like hugs, isn’t that into high fives… So I started wondering if my sister’s kids who are VERY affectionate and cuddly were influenced by their overly touchy-feely auntie. LOL.
