This is all very discouraging from a former literary teacher's perspective. We should have endless, free reading opportunities available in prisons. (Though I'd prefer we didn't have prisons in the first place.) And I'm sorry for the dyslexia experiences you had. I've found that that is an extremely common experience for Boomers, Gen Xers, and Millennials. Possibly the younger generations, too. Our education system is very binary and folks with learning disabilities are regularly left to fall between the cracks and are fed damaging beliefs about their intelligence that haunt them their entire lives. It's all rubbish, and I can promise you that. I paid $30K to learn that. ;) <3
