This is beautiful but brought up so much for me. I'm a childless aunt, and I always dreamed of having long, wild hair throughout my elder years. But I'm 48 now and going bald. Now, every day, I wonder if today is the day I should give myself a buzz cut. That seems like the only future my hair has and I'm surprised by how much that is breaking my heart.
