This is one of my pet causes. I get SO ANGRY when people continue to strengthen this myth that men want sex more than women. I wrote about that survey, too, in one of my early articles and if you dig deeply into it, some of their findings were about how women often did not report accurate numbers about times of day they thought about sex — the pre-existing gender bias prevented them from honestly reporting their thoughts and feelings!!!!!! So it was probably higher than what they said. And of course, the implications here are astounding — how much stock can we put in ANY sex study when women are sexually disempowered and therefore, not free to honestly report their experiences? We will never have accurate information in a society this imbalanced. OMG, I could go on and on about this!!!
