This is so beautiful. Those photos are just amazing. And as always, your writing is beautiful.
I wrote about relationships between men and women a while back. In the past five years — maybe more — I’ve become much more affectionate with all people in my life. Just noticing that life is short and wanting to appreciate people and be more loving. I have lots of close relationships with male friends who are married, but I say “I love you” to them (occasionally) and hug them a lot. I try to be very open about this, especially in front of their wives (if I feel that their wives wouldn’t be offended by my behavior) just so people know I have no designs on the guy or situation — they’re just my friend and I love them.
I occasionally get comments from women when I write about that topic that I’m being inappropriate. And I realize after recent events, that might be an arguable point. LOL. Regardless, I still think our culture is too uptight about relationships — too possessive. Of my two best, best friends right now, one is 71-year-old man. We even kiss on the lips sometimes though we have no plans of making things sexual. Some of my other friends think this is bizarre and that we are heading for a major fallout. But…we’re on 4 years and counting…
I think people confine relationships too much.
