This is SO good. I’ve seen this so many times. I once was enraptured with a guy who told me his roommates had forbidden him to date me. When I asked why, he said, “Because they can tell how gentle and kind you are and they know I’m going to use you up and throw you away like a piece of garbage. They said that would be cruel. But I can’t not give this a try. You’re so beautiful and I’m so crazy about you.”

All I really heard was the last sentence, but a little voice inside me said, “Honey — run!!!” I didn’t. And his roommates were right. :) Lesson learned.
