This is SO right on. I write a lot about the narrative of women having total control over their fertility, which is a myth designed to keep us pursuing the status quo. I don't have fertility issues and had my sights set on motherhood, yet it just didn't happen for me due to certain life circumstances. But it's common to hear, "Well, you would've made it happen if you really wanted," or "You're the one who kept choosing the wrong partners." Shaming, shaming, shaming. And the truth is, even if I had picked the perfect partner and started trying when I was 21, it still might not have happened. That's just not how life works.
