This show meant the world to me, opening my mind to what women could experience and talk about. But years later, I realized it was extremely problematic that there was so little representation there for anyone who wasn't white. That show is so white, it's blinding. And I know that that is not at all unusual, which is even more problematic.

I cannot imagine the way this show might have inspired had it worked harder at representing a more diverse cast of characters. I truly hope they hit that bar this time around.

And your character-by-character comparison was absolutely on point.
