When I first started college, I was very uptight about English and avoided slang. I saw it as something that was harmful.
Thankfully, I had a professor who nipped my arrogance in the bud by teaching me that languages are ALIVE. Every single day, they evolve, based on the way we use them. I saw the truth in that and was fascinated.
Ever since then, my perspective on language has been so different.
I love this article so much and see the importance of this. Language and culture are inextricably tied together and it's critical to preserve and protect them (as they evolve).
