Yes, I definitely agree. Women are poisoned by the patriarchy, too, and often do not realize it. Then we say and do things that unintentionally uphold the system that is unhealthy to all of us. And yes, a lot of that is expressing disappointment or criticism to men when they don’t carry us off into the sunset or slay our dragons in just the right way, or the way we hoped or expected. It is disappointing to me that we are all so vulnerable in this that it’s inevitable we will hurt one another as we heal. But we still have to keep trying, keep going.

I hope you feel safe enough to call this out when/if it happens to you. I think that’s something we have to do for one another — a little reminder that, hey, you’re spewing patriarchal dogma right now! How about an edit? :) (That was a hypothetical conversation between two hypothetical people, not me talking to you, just to be clear.)
